Délégué INPI Grand Est

Description

Philippe Borne is the regional delegate of INPI in Strasbourg. With a doctorate in pharmacy, he joined INPI in 1986 to participate in the design of the Pharmsearch pharmaceutical patent database, a project also involving Questel-Orbit and Derwent (now part of Clarivate). Mr. Borne then became deputy head of the INPI's intellectual property research department before joining the INPI's regional delegations in 2008. His main missions are to raise awareness among companies, particularly SMEs, about intellectual property and to encourage them to implement an active intellectual property policy. Patent analysis is one of the subjects he follows as part of his missions. He is a member of the board of directors of the CFIB (French-speaking group of patent information users) and joined the EPO's Patlib network of experts in June 2021, and in this capacity is involved in support actions for African universities. His current activity allows him to interact with entrepreneurs, intellectual property practitioners at the international level and the entire network of structures whose objective is to support innovation and business development. He has recently focused his interest on the geostrategic aspects of intellectual property.
