Description
President of the Eurometropolis of Strasbourg since July 15, 2020 (500,000 inhabitants, 33 municipalities), Pia IMBS – born on March 14, 1960 – is also Mayor of the municipality of Holtzheim (3,700 inhabitants) since 2014, where she has developed participatory democracy and established measured and qualitative growth for the community.
During her previous term, she was a metropolitan councilor responsible for industrial risks and President of the group "For a Balanced Eurometropolis." She was also a member of the board of directors of the Compagnie des Transports Strasbourgeois (CTS) and Vice-President of the Syndicat Mixte Bruche-Mossig.
Her professional career has led her to head various university institutions for more than 12 years (Dean of the Faculty of Economics of Amiens, Director of the IAE of Strasbourg, Deputy Director of the School of Management of Strasbourg) and to publish more than thirty research articles in various fields of management (particularly human resources and corporate social responsibility). She has also carried out various consulting and training assignments in companies on the dual theme of social and environmental responsibility.
With a doctorate in economics, she is a lecturer in management science and head of the Sustainable Development-CSR chair and the Human Resources Master's program at EM Strasbourg, where she teaches courses and supervises doctoral theses.
She also created an Executive MBA in Sustainable Development and CSR and has given numerous conferences in France and abroad on macro and microeconomic issues related to ecology.
Her constant commitment to ecology is expressed both in her daily life in her municipality (City and Village Star label, Zero Phyto, 4 flowers, signatory of the Pact for Ecological Transition) and in the organization of cycles of conferences with elected officials and business leaders on sustainable development issues (animator of the Grenelle de l'environnement in Mulhouse, creator and animator of the SIM Tank Sustainable Development -between 2006 and 2009-, with the aim of highlighting the economic, social and societal issues of sustainable development in Alsace).
She is an Officer of the Academic Palms and a Knight of the Legion of Honor.
