Description
Stéphane Fontaine is an engineer from the “École Nationale Supérieure des Industries Textiles de Mulhouse”, which has since become the École Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs Sud Alsace (ENSISA). After a doctorate in Engineering Sciences, he began his university career as Associate Professor at the University of Haute-Alsace. He then became Full Professor at the Institut Supérieur de l’Automobile et des Transports (ISAT – Nevers), University of Burgundy. After leading the DRIVE EA1859 Research Unit at ISAT, he became Director of the ENSAM Campus in Metz, in 2017.
His areas of academic expertise turn to the mechanics of flexible and rigid materials and their durability. He teaches advanced processes (such as bonding assemblies), eco-design and Life Cycle Assesment as well as the mechanics of deformable solids.
Since 2017, Stéphane Fontaine has carried out numerous labeled projects, alongside his ENSAM teams, through calls such as Pacte Compétences Grand Est, PIA or Territoires d’Industries, in order to support regional industry.
